Ashinohara has long relied on the "miko system" to resist the Threnodian, with each miko organization assigned to a specific territory. The Miko of Flaming Sakura is unique, her responsibility spanning all of Ashinohara.
The Seal of Flaming Sakura is one of her line's secret arts, said to have been created by the very first Miko of Flaming Sakura . It is the only secret art passed down in written form. The seal draws power from the miko herself: the more power she channels into it, the longer it lasts.
The seal's form changes with its caster.
It is said that Hiyuki sealed away part of "her own future" within it—including, some say, a future that cannot be named.
